Bad time to start up a journal I guess because I was too busy having an amazing bank holiday weekend to write in it. It was weird-good in that it felt like me and Andy got together for a proper weekend as if we lived in different places.
Friday night we fell asleep like usual, then up early on Saturday which was St. Richards festival here in Detroitwich. I still don't know who St. Richard is. So we drank lots of tea and played some pokemon during kids shows, which ended in my deciding finally against training ANOTHER grass type even though my Jumpluff was so very cute and could possibly have much better stats than my lvl 100 Cherrim in the end... Anyway, event-less pokemon. Got dressed and did a few puzzles on Zack and Wiki together. I love that game. More people should buy it. (o_o BUY IT!!!) Then we went to check on my duck in the park.
I will explain. In a cut because it diverges slightly from the storyline of my weekend
( the story of the duckling. actually perhaps a little bit boring )
We couldn't find the duck. ;_; but we saw that they were giving barge rides through the canal all festival day. You can imagine what I thought at this time. There was really no point looking for the duck anymore. Those morbid thoughts aside we went to pick up Andy's mom to check out all the stalls around town. I was too cheap to buy anything except for offering a round of icecreams. My company wanted a pint first and in the end no one got icecreams. ;__;
The biggest event of the day was the rubber duck race over the river. Our racer "Sir Digby" also knows as #421 was MIA.
Sunday we went to the car boot on our own even though Anne (Andy's mom) said she'd join us for the Cheap Tat Challenge! ( find the best bit of junk for under a pound then we all compare and decide the winner based on who's junk is the funniest) We didn't find anything good but managed to get covered in mud and eat some undercooked donuts.
Next we went into Worcester for Jimmy Eat World's re-realease of Bleed American. Didn't find it. Instead bought Connect Four, Downfall and Othello cheap from Woolworths! and a new LEGO truck with a fork-lift. (Woolworths is great for cheap toys. Aptly named toys that make me laugh. Such examples of this are: Crab pool is as it says, but the big bold name written on the box was what had my attention. Also Busy Dumper a childrens book about a digger, we joked that the title was actually misplaced and was intended for a different book...) Had an AWESOME day of that and the shittiest round of Mario Party 8 ever. (I was playing it again this morning because I want to unlock the squid-thing... I'm a glutton for punishment)
Monday was mostly another brilliant morning of goofing around with our games and stuff then in the afternoon we took of to Andy's Dad's place for a bbq. Caroline and her kids(5+1 friend) were there so it was a little less relaxed than we thought, but a good time none the less. My first 10 minutes of arriving at the house I was dragged out to the garden by Selena had my cider taken off me and hidden. ;_; I was not to be tempted into playing the babysitter here.
Andy and I managed a couple of kicks around with the football until the youngest started demanding turns and making up rules. We stuffed ourselves full of meat and... cous-cous. (Caroline is sort of like a dietitian.) We left for home when it was apparent that the youngest were getting ready for sleep/ REALLY CRANKY.
We decided to take a short cut through the scary park with lots of gangs in it after 9 o'clock. O_O so far so good until we come across a fire in a trash can! I managed to get up the courage to call the fire brigade and report it before some shady looking characters started to swarm and we took flight. I assume it all got sorted, I never got a call back. ^_^;
Hurray, my weekend! How exciting!?
It was just really nice feeling romantic after a dull week. We were always smiling at each other and sneaking a kiss! I start feeling all squishy just thinking about it! ^____^ he's back at work right now, and I'm sat here waiting for a call off the temp agency and a knock from the decorators to come and fix the leak above our bathroom. But that's a whole nother boring story I will save for later and probably never tell. Ha ha!
Now I'm going to to have a play with my tablet and perhaps join an oekaki board. Have a nice day!! xx
